01 The short version
SophiaIndex is a free, static reference site. There is no account to create and nothing to log in to. The only information involved is (a) anonymous workload reports you choose to submit, and (b) basic, cookie-free analytics about page visits. We don't run ads, don't build an email list, and don't sell or share your information. That's the whole story — the sections below just spell it out.
02 What you submit
When you use the "Report your hours" button, you're filling out a Google Form. You choose to submit:
- The course the report is about (pre-filled for you).
- The hours you spent on it.
- An optional difficulty rating (1–5).
That's it. The form does not ask for your name, your school, or any way to identify you, and reports are treated as anonymous. We use submissions only in aggregate — to show a median number of hours and difficulty per course, alongside how many reports there are.
We do not collect email addresses through the form.
03 Analytics
To understand how many people visit and which pages get used, this site uses GoatCounter, a privacy-focused analytics tool. GoatCounter does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not collect personal information. It records aggregate, non-identifying details like page views, referring links, and general browser and screen information. You can read how it works at goatcounter.com/help/privacy.
04 Where the data lives
Course data and community reports are stored in Google Sheets and collected through Google Forms. When you submit a report or load this page's data, that information is handled by Google under Google's privacy policy. We don't operate our own servers or databases, and we don't store anything about you beyond what's described above.
05 What we don't do
- No advertising and no ad trackers.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of your information.
- No email list, newsletter, or marketing messages.
- No user accounts, logins, or profiles.
- No cross-site or behavioral tracking.
06 Children
This site is a general-audience educational reference and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
07 Your choices and contact
Because submissions are anonymous, we generally can't locate an individual report to remove it. If you believe a specific submission should be corrected or taken down, or you have any privacy question, email sophiaindexinfo@gmail.com and describe the issue. We'll do what we reasonably can.
08 Changes to this policy
If this site's data practices change, this policy will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will change. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
